Yes, You Can Find The Right Maternity Bikini Swimwear!

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 21-05-2009

Pregnancy has become a reason to wear many different kinds of fashion. Where women through history wore clothing that minimized the appearance of their pregnancy, modern women are showing off their pregnancies. It comes as no surprise that maternity bikini swimwear is becoming more popular.

About Maternity Bikini Swimwear

The concept of maternity bikini swimwear is a new one. Women who wished to wear bikinis while pregnant either went on wearing the ones that they already had, or bought regular bikinis in larger sizes.

However, with maternity clothing stores becoming more popular, many are also now carrying various lines of this kind of swimwear. These bikinis do not differ very much from regular bikinis. Of course, it is interesting to note that only a decade or so ago, it was still considered unflattering for a woman to show off her maternal curves.

Maternal curves should be something that every woman celebrates! Thus, when it comes to choosing the right maternity bikini swimwear, you need to consider what would look the most flattering on your body. If, for example, you are slender, you can get away with wearing something as daring as a string bikini, but otherwise, consider getting a bikini that has more material.

For example, since your bosom will change while pregnant, be sure that the top you get it one that can be adjustable. This is best found in the tie-on tops. If you think that your bottom might get bigger while pregnant, consider getting swimwear with a bottom that is stretchable.

While there are only so many different kinds of tops you can choose, you have more of a choice when it comes to the bottoms. When it comes to bikini tops, there are basically two kinds: ones that look like bras, and ones that have to be tied on. However, one choice that you should not choose when it comes to the bottoms is a thong bikini, for modesty purposes.

Other than the standard bikini bottom, consider the boy short. This is a great way for women who are sensitive about their thighs to wear bikini-like bottoms that provide coverage. Or, consider getting a basic bikini bottom, but accessorizing it with a decorative beach skirt.

For more information on where you can find maternity bikini swimwear, consult the internet. There are a variety of different websites that will be able to help you find the best maternity bikini swimwear styles.

Andropause: Diminishing Male Hormone Production

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 19-05-2009

Andropause is the natural decrease in the production of male sex hormones as men age. It is less well known than menopause because the onset and progression are more gradual and because there are fewer overt symptoms. Men continue to experience normal sexual function and are even fertile late into life, so little thought has been given to the effects of diminishing male hormone production until recently.

Testosterone, DHEA and the testosterone/estrogen ratio are important aspects for understanding andropause.

Testosterone

Testosterone is the most important male hormone, and it is produced in tissues all through the body. Testosterone is necessary for male sexual development and function, and is also needed by both men and women for muscle development. Vitality, energy, aggressiveness and competitiveness are also associated with testosterone.

With aging, male hormone production by the testes declines. This tends to cause a decrease in muscle mass and an increase in fatty deposits. Obesity becomes more common as men age. Diminishing testosterone levels may also be associated with metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease and other diseases of aging.

DHEA

DHEA is a steroid secreted by the adrenal glands that is a precursor to both estrogen and testosterone. DHEA levels also decline with aging, so there is less of it available for testosterone manufacture. Supplementing DHEA can sometimes normalize testosterone levels.

Testosterone/estrogen Ratio

Men also secrete estrogen, and one tissue that is active in estrogen production is fatty tissue. As testosterone levels decrease, more fat is deposited, so more estrogen is produced. That changes the testosterone/estrogen ratio and initiates the hypogonadal/obesity cycle. Insulin resistance and elevated blood cholesterol levels may also occur as male hormone levels decline.

Treatment

Treatment for andropause involves replacing the male hormones. Testosterone is usually replaced, but sometime HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is used to stimulate natural male hormone production. Other hormones that may be replaced are DHEA, estrogen and human growth hormone.

If a man has prostate cancer, taking testosterone may make the tumor grow rapidly. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, so it is important to make sure it is not present before beginning male hormone replacement. Most physicians monitor PSA (prostate specific antigen a marker for prostate cancer) regularly while you are taking male hormones.

Andropause can be as distressing for men as menopause is for women. Male hormone replacement helps many men continue to feel well later into life, and may prevent some of the diseases of aging caused by declining hormone levels.

Some Tips On Making Pear Wine

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 15-05-2009

Pear wine has been around for centuries and has been made under many names. One of the more popular old versions of pear wine is called Mead. It is made with pears and honey and is also referred to as Perry. In the days of the ancient Romans pear wine was flowing like a river and was one of the most consumed beverages of the Roman Empire. Later on in the 1500’s the French took a liking to pear wine. Aside from the Mead version of pear wine the other way of making pear wine is to use pears, raisins and sugar. However if you decide to make pear wine you can always follow some basic steps and make sure to use some of the more basic ingredients for making the best pear wine.

Making Pear Wine With Raisins

For the non-Mead type pear wine you are going to need some basic ingredients. All of the ingredients for this version of making pear wine are based on one gallon of water, so you should count on using these quantities when you start making pear wine and do not change them. You are going to need one gallon of water, five pounds of very ripe pears, one pound of raisins, two pounds of sugar, a package of yeast and a teaspoon of yeast nutrient, and a combination of enzymes and acids that vary from recipe to recipe.

Boil the water and then pour the boiling water over the fruit that has been treated with the enzymes and acids. This is where any recipe gets personal and all of them vary when it comes to the actual fermenting and cooling of the wine. You will have to experiment to find the combination that works for you.

Using The Mead Method

Mead is basically the same as the raisin pear wine except instead of sugar and raisins you use honey. Mead has a tendency to be a little thicker than raisin pear wine so before you start making pear wine you may want to decide if you want a thick wine or a more flowing wine. Apply the same cooking principles and you have it! Making pear wine can take years to get right but it can also be fun in the process.

Just as the ancient Romans used to do, you too can start making pear wine. All you need are the ingredients, the know-how and the time to work through the different issues that come up when making any wine. It can be a lot of fun and it can also be rewarding but just make sure it’s legal where you live!

Buying A New Mattress Set: Affordable And Convenient

Filed Under (Info) by admin on 13-05-2009

Buying a new mattress set is not something very hard, but buying the best in the market is sometimes very hard. There are just too many different types of mattresses in the market these days. If you bought your mattress five years ago, and want to change now, you definitely would not be able to find the same one, and in fact you would be lost in choices.

Five years ago, the job of buying may have seemed hard for you. Now, it’s going to be even worse than that. You have to know the basics of a mattress before choosing the right one for your needs and requirements. From the comfort level that the mattress can provide to the foundation to the warranty, everything needs to be considered before you buy one.

Comfort and Support Levels

Basically there are three different comfort levels when it comes to mattresses, which include firm, plush and pillow top. What differs is the type of support or padding that the mattress can provide. Firm is believed to be better for the back because it gives more support, although most of the times this may be necessarily so. Plush mattresses usually give firm mattress foundation, with additional padding or comfort layers on top for extra comfort.

Pillow top is just above plush, whereby mattresses of this type give more comfort layers on top in general. This is very important when buying a new mattress set, especially to those who are much concerned with hardness of mattresses and discomfort with it. For some, a certain type of mattress could be hard, while for some others it may appear soft.

Foundation

A new mattress set would not be a different type of mattress from what you have been using, unless you want to try something new. The most important feature when it comes to the different types would be the foundation of the mattress itself, or what it is made of. The common ones would include spring, foam, water, air, and so on. Basically, here you have to consider the quality of the spring or foam or any other medium used in the mattress set. If you are looking for a long lasting mattress, then you should go for springs that flex and absorb some of the weight.

Warranty

Cheaper mattress sets would not have warranties normally more than a year, but when you buy good ones they may go up to even five years. When you buy a mattress worthy of your money, make sure the warranty is worthy as well.
